wytnyt
im getting ready to fill my loop and want to clarify the 2 pins needed to cross out to power it up from the psu itself.i know the 2 from the other end of the cable but wanted to insure the wires dont change pin location from the 2 ends... http://www.corsair.com/~/media/Corsair/Product-Photo-Root/A/ax760i_860i_psu_back_2.png
thenosbod
I would check it with a multi meter.

If you want, I can add a picture of which ones are connected, but it's the same as any other PSU when you are using the 24 pin cable.
Lady Fitzgerald
I concur with connecting the 24 pin cable and putting the shunt there. It would be too easy to make a mistake that could fry your PSU otherwise.
thenosbod
I have a power supply testing meter that that activates the PSU when the 24 pin cable is inserted in to it. This seems the safest way of activating the psu to prime the pump.

This seems the safest way of activating the psu to prime the pump. It is a good way. I also have a tester but it requires both the 24 pin and the CPU power cables to be inserted to turn on the PSU. The shunt in the end of the 24 pin cable is easier to use and is the same configuration for all PSUs., both 20 pin and 24 pin.

thenosbod
Failing that you could always feed the pump with 12volts from another source.
wytnyt
Failing that you could always feed the pump with 12volts from another source. ;): ive entertained that idea since i have 2 others sitting beside this one, being ill be powering on/off several times,i may connect a flip switch to it...
