Foulcault
Got a new computer and bought the H80i. The fans are running at full speed and I know they should when you first turn them on and then it goes lower but then playing games like watchdogs it goes into overdrive and gets as fast if not faster and it gets loud. Turning off the game shows no decrease in speed for a long time. Turning off the PC and waiting a while does so I know it is responding to heat issue however the Corsair link I downloaded from the website isn't working from what I see of other examples. I can see the CPU heat and capacity along with the graphics card heat but I don't see any information for the water system itself. I am sure I have it plugged into a usb port but did notice my motherboard splits a usb with another feature (sorry got this last night and documentation is at home). I am pretty sure all the connections are right. Is there something I am doing wrong that the waterblock information won't come up?
JaegerBane
What temperature is your CPU running at? If Link isn't working then the fans will run at full speed regardless.
Foulcault
when I checked last night ranged from 30 - 50s for temperature. Issue is they are running at full tilt. I think it might be the Link software or the connection between them but unsure where to start. they don't run at full speed the whole time but they definitely run heavy once I start games up and even after gaming never calm down for a long time. I normally end up shutting down the PC and letting it rest for a bit while I watch tv.
JaegerBane
Standard practice if there's a connection issue is to use a USB a-b cable and try connecting to outside slots - these are less prone to device conflicts which tends to be the main reason for these screw ups. Try removing all other USB devices when you do this. Unless the cooler has had a setting added to its profile for fan behaviour, it will default to full speed - so I've no idea why it would ramp up just playing a game if that really was the issue - it shouldn't have any further setting to increase to. Your temps also sound ok (certainly not something that would justify fan-insanity). Typically fan speed will only increase if they're set to a profile and the cpu/cooler is getting hot.
