Compizfox
I just bought a Corsair Vengeance 2000 second hand (never used though, seller got it back from RMA), but the sound in my right ear is much louder than in my left ear. Could this be a driver issue or is this definitely a hardware problem and should I return it to the seller? I installed the Corsair software but I'm not sure if the drivers are installed correctly. In Device Manager, it says "No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device." (see screenshot) http://i.imgur.com/ZLXSO07.png If I try to 'feed' it the correct driver manually from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Corsair\Corsair Headset Software\Driver\Package\corsveng2k.inf", it says "The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it's designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems." I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit btw.
Compizfox
I just tested it on a VM running Windows 7 64 bit. On here, the drivers install as they should and in Device Manager it correctly says it's using Corsair's drivers. However, the problem persists. Toasted
Most likely a hardware issue. Try the headset on another computer and see if it does the same. If it does, contact your seller.
Compizfox
I decided to RMA it a while ago and got a brand new 2100 headset now. It was probably a hardware issue, yes.
