AX1200i clicking/ticking sound

Hello everyone, I have an AX1200i that I purchased in late 2012 that has developed a very annoying clicking/ticking noise. Upon start up, it makes a loud clicking sound like a jack hammer for a couple minuets then stops. It then proceeds to click every 13 seconds. It is very annoying. I already sent in a ticket for RMA but was told they do not have any in stock and that I would would have to wait indefinitely for one to come in stock, meanwhile I have to deal with the annoying jack hammer noise. I asked if I could instead upgrade to the next model up (AX1500i) since they do not have the AX1200i in stock, and don't know when more will come in. Instead I was offered to down grade to the HX series. I buy corsair for almost all my computer parts, but am now left with a bad taste in my mouth and not sure if i'l ever purchase a Corsair product again.

First, look to see if there's a wire or something obstructing the fan. If you can't find an obstruction, take a pencil and with the eraser side, push in on the center of the fan as hard as you can.

i doubt they will upgrade you to their flagship psu,,they only replace with the same model that you bought...

I would be perfectly happy to get a same model replacement. The problem is they do not have any more AX1200i power supplies in stock, and do not know when they will get more. Am I going to have to wait the remaining few years until my warranty is expired? This was the flagship model when I bought it. I offered to pay the difference in price, which seems very fair to me.

i agree, and understand how you feel as the 1200i is a high end psu but being its still a high end psu,id doubt they would be out of stock very long.i do know they dont give times frames very often as users take that estimate as a for sure date.

Let me know how this works out.
