fifo
I have heard corsair are releasing the new hxi series psus that are platinum efficiency. This makes me think. I've purchased an axi 760 platinum so what is the difference? Was I better off with the hx 760i which would be cheaper?
Yellowbeard
We'll have more info coming on the HXi series in the next couple of weeks. Watch the blogs.
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted June 5, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 5, 2014 Like the RM, the HXi isn't digital. Unlike the RM, The HXi supports a lot more Link features and has the analog to digital bridge built in. So the HXi is exactly where it should be. In between the RM and the AXi. Like Yellowbeard said, there will be an entire blog post revealing the aspects of HXi next week.
fifo
if it isn't digital why does it have the i. i thought the i represents digital. The RM does not have i because it is not digital. I've notice corsair have used there own hydro bearing quite fan instead of Yate loon. This must make a big difference to the noise profile. Do these have a self test button and similar layout to the AXi series. I guess these units are also made by Flextronics.

Yeah that's exactly what I thought. Like the AXi is digital but the AX isn't (I think) and the H100i is digital but the H105 isn't.

The RM does not have i because it is not digital. "i" is for anything that supports Link. The RM does not have "i" because that decision was made after it came out, but it makes it more consistent with the coolers like the H80i, H100i, etc. You'll find moving forward that the RM is the exception to the rule. I've notice corsair have used there own hydro bearing quite fan instead of Yate loon. This must make a big difference to the noise profile. SpDFrek
Yeah that's exactly what I thought. Like the AXi is digital but the AX isn't (I think) and the H100i is digital but the H105 isn't. The "i" represents anything with a USB connection. The RM only has analog outputs. You can buy a USB dongle to connect it to your system, but it does not come in the box. The AXi and Hxxxi parts all have USB connection in the box.
