giygas
Anything to diagnose potential problems...? Just two days ago my FX-8350 was idling at 31-33 degrees Celsius, and today it is idling at 39-41 degrees. The only major thing I did to my computer is I removed a hard drive cage from my Vengeance C70 case, and I can't imagine that having any impact on the cooler at all. jameyscott
Check your fans and make sure they are running. On some motherboards, including mine, I had to set a minimum fan speed because it was going below 200 RPM. It is possible that you could have also removed the pump connection to the motherboard as well. Just make sure everything is secure. :)
giygas
Everything is properly connected, there was one time a while ago when I actually did forget to connect the pump, but in that incident the computer automatically shut down and would not power on until I discovered my mistake and connected it. I have 2 SP120 Quiet Edition PWM fans that are each running at about 900 rpm currently. Thanks for your help but this is still frustrating :(
jameyscott
What about room temperature? Any chance in that? Just a few C difference in the room caused my CPU temps to spike up about 10C.
wytnyt
it wouldnt take much activity to brings temps up this much, even 10-15 cpu usage can do this or as said a few degrees in ambient temp...
giygas
It may be just that...it's definitely gotten warmer, but I didn't anticipate it leading to such a big change. I'm not using to seeing it sit at 40°C, is a pretty high idle temp.
