Corsair link (latest version) not detecting h100i

Hello Everyone,

I just installed a H100i for the first time tonight.

Everything went well with the install.

I installed the Corsair link software that was in the download section of their site. Rebooted and the software did not pick up the device.

I made sure the USB 3.0 drivers for my MOBO were installed.

I moved the USB for the device to a different port on the mobo and got the same results.

I uninstalled the link software and installed the latest beta version, the h100i is still not showing up.

Anyone have an idea of what i may have done wrong?

My setup is:

Mobo: Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3

CPU: Intel i7 3770k

OS: Windows 8.1 64bit

Heres what shows up in devices:

Here is what i do see in the Link software:

I too had the exact same issue and this did the trick for me:

After you reload from applying the reg changes the Link software will load and it will prompt to update the firmware to 1.07 I believe, anyway the safe way to go was to hit CANCEL as I have seen lots of people having issues in the forums when they apply it if the firmware is already running that version. You can do this manually anyway after its running and be able to see what version you have currently.

When I hit CANCEL...it WORKED! Man this was very frustrating...

I had this exact issue and fixed it by replacing the mini USB to Motherboard USB cable with a mini USB to USB cable plugged onto a USB port on the back plane of the motherboard. You can purchase a right angle Mini USB cable for $5-7 and if your case is built for water cooling you will likely have an opening that you can send the cable out to the back and not have to leave the side of the case open.

It took me about two months and an RMA of the first H100i to get to this point and it was finally with the help of Tech Support over the phone that we discovered this work-around. Apparently there are some issues with the on-the-motherboard USB headers property detecting and reading the Corsair devices. This isn't an issue plugging into the USB port on the back of the MB.
