AwgDawg64
Has anyone experienced a meltdown of sorts with the GS800? The unit is not even six months old and we had a potential fire issue as it apparently "fried". I emailed the company from which it was purchased as it supposedly has a 3 year warranty. Unfortunately, I don't have the invoice, just the noted charge on my credit card. Can it be replaced and should I be concerned that this will happen again with the same unit? Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted May 28, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 28, 2014 How does a PSU fry and melt down? Like, it literally burst into a fire ball and turned into a molten puddle?
AwgDawg64
The power supply was fried internally...the female receptacle on the unit was melted along with the male end of the power cord. Hope that explains it.
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted November 14, 2014 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 14, 2014 Female receptacle? It's not a modular PSU, so I assume you mean where the AC power cord plugs in the back?
