baconsticks
Hello. I've recently installed the Corsair H105 liquid cooler, and I just have a minor question. I've read numerous reviews on it, and it seems the temperatures they're getting during benchmarks are 10 degrees (celcius) lower than mine? Even idling. Like right now my i7-4770k is idling at package temperature 36. Is this normal? Is it because I'm not using push/pull? Does this even matter, really? Specs below. ASUS MAXIMUS VI GENE Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHz EVGA Nvidia GTX 780-TI Superclocked w/ ACX Cooler Corsair Graphite Series 730T Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Gaming Case (currently using all stock fans available) Ran a PRIME95 stress test (small FFTs, 4 torture threads), the highest temp the CPU would run up to was 67, with it hovering at 63-65. wytnyt
only your load temps really matter and yours are good and an average loading temps...
lockbox
Ambient temperature will impact your temperature compared to published benchmarks. Once you establish a baseline for idle and load, you just need to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't drastically change. If it does, it could mean that something is wrong. My H100i runs around 32-34C when idle. I live in a warm climate (23-28C ATM) and don't have air conditioning. I had to redo my thermal paste and used Arctic Silver 5.
