oilmanzz
To save creating a new thread: I too have issues with the USB3.0 on front panel with this case. I have not noticed until now as I didn't have USB3 devices until this week. The ports have been working fine as USB2 however when I plug in USB3 I get the message that the device can work better if in a superspeed USB3 port!! It works perfectly on the USB3 ports on the rear panel. All MB drivers etc are (re)installed and working but I just cant get the front ports to operate as USB3. I believe the case is still in warranty (I recently RMA'ed the HGST HDD I purchased with the case and that drive had build date of June 2012, so I purchased the case well after this). The issue I have is we moved houses since purchase and I have my wife madly searching for the original purchase receipt so I can provide it. Should I go ahead and submit a ticket etc or am I out of luck without the receipt? Thanks in advance, David.
snapper69
I did an RMA but I couldn't find my invoice, as I'd bought it online from Dabs I went to their site, found a copy of their invoice, did a print screen and sent that.
snapper69
Am I correct in thinking that your processor is Sandybridge? If so, that is the reason you have a problem. Sandybridge doesn't support USB 3.0 or PCIe 3.0. That only comes with Ivybridge.
oilmanzz
Intel only started producing a USB 3.0 controller of their own with Ivybridge, however the GB x79-UP4 MB does have 3rd party support via Fresco Logic USB 3.0 controller (yes, I have the latest drivers). I know this board and processor supports USB 3.0 otherwise I wouldn't be getting rear panel USB 3.0 support and transfer speeds of 120 MB/s+. Thanks for your response but I don't think this is the reason the front panel connectors are not working.
