Valthero
Hello. I wish to purchase an RM850 PSU. The problem is, my build is blue-and-black-themed, and the color on the sticker is gold. I'm using a C70 case with a window, and I don't want to look inside and see an ugly off-colored sticker. This is the sticker that I wish to remove. As you can see, it contains no serial number, "warranty void if removed" text, or the like. I will be replacing it with a custom sticker of my own that fits my theme, something along these lines. Would doing this void my warranty? I've seen mixed responses to previous user questions regarding removing the sticker, but would my custom sticker fall under the lines of "counterfeit sticker"? Thank you in advance for any and all replies.
Administrators Technobeard Posted May 12, 2014 Administrators Share Posted May 12, 2014 No stickers can be removed / modified without voiding the warranty.
Valthero
Hmm. Okay, thank you for the clarification.
Lady Fitzgerald
Make a shroud to cover the PSU, similar to this one. That's what I'm planning on doing to cover the hideous sticker on top of my PSU.

It would depend on your case. If it has an opening in the floor for the PSU fan to draw outside air through or the PSU mounts high enough that enough air can get under it, then yes, the fan would point down (that's what I'm doing with my PSU in the case I'm modding). If not, you can always point the fan up and cut a matching hole in the shroud.
Valthero
I see. Thanks for the idea. I might end up wrapping the visible parts of the PSU in cheap vinyl wrap, and then place the sticker on there. Easy to remove if I ever need to RMA the power supply, and far less work involved.
