rene mauricio
I currently own one of your competitors PSUs because I could not find any Corsair units that have LEDs in them - that are modular. I see the old HX and TX units have been updated, why not the GS? I would love to see an updated GS that allows you to control the color via LINK. Speaking of which. I am in the market now for a new PSU because the one mentioned above is making a taser-like sound anytime I heavily use my GPU. In talking to customer support from both TigerDirect and NewEgg, they both imply that the ONLY 3 units still in production (read: not discontinued) are the RM, HX and AX - hence why the others are often out of / never in stock. Is this true?
Lady Fitzgerald
In the case of NewEgg, they are frequently out of stock on many items so I would take any excuses they give with a grain of salt.

Is this true? I just purchased a RM 650 PS and I must say I am very pleased with the performance. BTW I had a competitor 850w until this. All I can say is I see no difference outside the bling you need on s PS? WHAT?
rene mauricio
Yes I do. The current unit I have (Fatal1ty 750 - bleh) looks so damn awesome on my Corsair 250D. It matches the light coming out the top window by the Corsair 120 and 140 LED Air series. Sadly it makes an awful sound while under load which has me looking for a replacement. A RM or TX are in my future since they both seem to have the Zero RPM Mode... but would rather have a modular GS. Perhaps Corsair has something planned for Computex? One can dream... Is this true? LOL! So CX, CS-M and AXi are no longer in production? Way to impress people with your customer service, Tiger and Newegg! :D: I'm sure something will come along to replace the GS as far as being a "gamer looking" power supply, but don't count on anything soon. None of the planned Computex launches have LEDs. :(
rene mauricio
I called TigerDirect for clarification. While they could not provide me details about Corsair's production (this would have been the response I was expecting) they did tell me that the web chat support is outsourced to the Philippines and that they are not always up to speed when it comes to store stock or policy. Sigh... then what are they good for then? NewEggs "higher" tier support told me that they seemingly are only receiving constant stock of the following Corsair family of units: CX, CS, RM, HX and AX (which I would assume includes AXi). The two I was considering were the GS and TX (v2/3?). My question now is are they, and the VS, phased out? Corsair's own webshop seemingly supports what they claim as the TX / TXm units are priced identically as the RM units. It would be nice if one could visit the main Corsair site and see only the current units listed and past ones filed under "EOL" or "LEGACY" to prevent confusion. None of the planned Computex launches have LEDs. :( You wouldn't want to share what they DO have planned, would you? ;) George is teasing us at OCN with pictures of what looks like a mini AIR 540. Perhaps the Ultra Chill white version of the 250D will make an appearance? I wouldn't mind seeing a 200mm AIO cooler - or shorter length Corsair brand PSU cables either. n_n'

VS isn't phased out. But since it's 230V only, it's way off my radar. :D And GS and TX are EOL. The RM fills the TX price point, as you observed. GS is in limbo right now. You wouldn't want to share what they DO have planned, would you? ;) I got nothin' for you. :(
