Droplifter
Hello all, I apologise for typing errors I'm on a ****ty laptop I'm a big fan of corsair and have a case/psu/h100i, the psu and cooler were bought less than a month ago... Anyway, right in the middle of a game today, cpu at 46degrees celsius, not 3770k clocked at 3.9ghz (because I was just allowing the system time to settle for a few weeks before I pushed any clock speeds...) I heard the system hang, like the horrific sound of hardware failure. The system would reboot but my gtx 780 was dead, no life at all. Upon opening the system I found a coolant leak... liquid under the case, inside it, crucially all over my gfx, psu, everything. The psu and motherboard may be ok, but the GFX is toast, along with the cooler. The coolant is like luminous? You can see it on the right of this picture, there are 3 in the set: http://imgur.com/oqQamGu,bAiIou2,YOPmhBK What do I do now? I'm only not smashing this laptop up because I need it to report the issue. Devastated is not the word. It's brand new, or was, as is most of the hardware that's toast. Help! :(: Cheers. -Droplifter the Damp. ps have yet to input system specs into profile due to ****ty small keyboard. I'll write the obituary later. Jeronbernal
I'm so sad that even happened to you bro, man... I couldn't imagine the pain your going through right now, I hope that it gets solved quickly, if they don't replace your psu, I might be able to help you out Ps. If you're in the US that is Pss. If you do ever decide to get back into liquid cooling, closed loop or open, there is the option to get a koolance liquid leak sensor, haven't tried it yet but I'd assume it's a good idea. In my loop I set up a flow meter, so when the flow goes below a certain threshold due to pump failure or coolant leak the PC will shut down automatically through Aida 64 or speed fan
Droplifter
Thanks for the offer, the psu is ok, liquid went around the edge, the gfx is toast though, I cleaned what I could see of the coolant off but as it's left a residue or something. It will boot to windows, and start games, but then the screen goes BANANAS, like red/green/sound glitches, you name it, terrible. Anyways I made a ticket and I hope they can help. I'm using intel 4000 on-chip graphics at the moment, not so bad actually.

Dave65
Are the hoses different? They don't look like h100i hoses?
zzStejz
I think that these hoses are for newest h100i. Since I have same hoses as OP show in the picture.

RDhanur
With heartfelt condolences!.. i'm imagine that happened to me too... and how's going now? do Corsair change/ "reimburce" the damages?. To Corsair guys: I'm not trying to be drama king here.. but seriously, i won't hesitate changed back into my old air cooling if so much uncertainty regarding leak potential. Hence, is there any reference to trigger alarm (using Corsair Link?) in case of fluid leak is about to happen?

ricardod123
I'm really sorry to hear of your misfortune. How did this end for you? I ask because my H80i leaked all over my build a few days back and i'm currently waiting to hear if my damage claim is going to be approved. Its so bad, 2 770s and a xonar soundcard are ruined. I've also found the coolant has eroded the finish on the cards and my desk where it pooled under the pc. I hope you are on the road to recovery! JaegerBane
using water cooled units will always produce a higher risk, this is obvious or should be when moving from air. even tho the risk is low ,users need to decide and accept the risk or else stay on O2 To be fair, while it's self-evident water cooling brings greater risks, the design should take all steps possible to prevent this kind of thing and there should recompense if they fail. This is precisely what these coolers are intended to be used for, it's not like he was using it in an unorthodox matter. Moving to cars from a bicycle brings greater risk too, you wouldn't accept the damages if faulty tyres caused a crash. Depending on where he lives, there's legal issues there too - I know that in the UK there are strict laws regarding reasonable use etc. Even so, it sounds like he's getting sorted.
