caveman59847
Does anyone have the aSuStek Crosshair V Formula Z with a AMD FX 9590 ? I am considering buying the FX 9590 and I hear it gets really hot and have heard both good and bad about using the Corsair H100i cooling unit. Some people have told me to get a better cooler and some have told me it is plenty to cool it. I probably will not do a lot of overclocking since it doesn't have a high overclock ratio. I hear it is hard to gt above 5.3 GHz. I do like to play Metro Last Light and Crysis 3. aSusTek Crosshair V Formula Z AMD Phenom II X6 1100t 3.3 GHz Corsair H100i Water Cooling H.I.S IceQ Turbo Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB
antonyfrn
Well I just got a FX 8350 using the Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 mobo and seeing the temps for the H100i in the CLink software are hitting 35c max but before 30c max using a default fan profile looks like these 8 cores heat up the H100i. But it could be that I'm using AS5 when I re-seated the block might go order some Shin-Etsu X23-7783D and try it with that.
nathancnc
I am currently using the 9590, and at 5 Ghz when bench marking it gets to about 65-67 degrees depending on the room temperature. Mind you I have 4 fans on my H100i.

That's lapped with Liquid metal TIM and the case open. This means A) I naturally ended up with a defective unit or B) people are talking out their cornhole. I have a custom loop with a much cooler intel chip and I would have a boner if I hit 35 max. When people say max they expect to hear under full load and not gaming, under a synthetic test like prime or IBT. FTR I idle at almost 40 :p Worth noting the 8350 is half the TDP of the 9590 (OP)

Really don't know if 2 more will save the day but if it takes 4 fans - the people reporting better temps than yours with 2 are full of it.
