Corsair Raptor M45 latest firmware

Recommended Posts

Hello, few days ago i purchased Raptor M45. My first action was to visit the website and download latest software and firmware. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/raptor-m45-gaming-mouse

The thing is after installing succesfully the latest firmware the software indicates my mice still using v1.02 instead of v1.05. Any ideas what is wrong ? Mind if you share some info about differences between 1.02 and 1.05 ? Thanx in advance

Reflash the firmware and see if that changes anything.

Try a different USB port and see if that helps as well.

There is usually a changelog in one of the PDfs included with the archive. It's also best to see if you can get it to FW 1.05 as some software functions may not work properly.

Hello and thanx for your reply. On Raptor M45 download page i see this: M45 Gaming Software Update FW 1.05 / SW 1.0.0.4.

After download the two files in zip is M45FwUpdate 1.02 sw-1.3 012714 and M45 setup 1.0.0.4 020714.

So after both files installation i am browsing on C:\Program files(x86)\Corsair\M45 firmware update, running FWUpdate and getting this screen :

Does 1.05 firmware even exists ????

I can confirm that the version number is displayed incorrectly due to a typo. The FW is actually 1.05 and not 1.02, but as it does not impact performance, please disregard the discrepancy. We'll make sure (if there is a future update) to resolve it.

Hi,

the installer still has the version number 1.02. The other problem is that I can't install it. It says "Set firmware update mode failed!"

I tried everything from uninstalling the drivers/using different usb ports/changing BIOS settings for the usb ports but it still didn't work.

Before I start the firmware installation the status is "Mode: Hardware Playback", "FW Version: 1.02" and "SW v1.3"

When I start the firmware installation the process starts and you can see "Set firmware update mode!". The status is then "Mode: No device or reset" and "FW Version: ". So it doesn't display the device and the fw version anymore.

After a few seconds the installation breaks.

The mouse I just bought has exactly the same problem. Any Corsair employee care to give an update? What does the updated firmware do exactly anyway?

I know for a fact that the FW update doesn't do anything on the performance side. If you would like to know, it may take some time to find out because M45 was released a few years ago when we did not have patch notes yet :D:. IMO, if it's not broken, don't try to fix it

Since he purchased it recently (and that FW is pretty old from what I can see) I'd say the mouse already ships with the latest one available. This is the case with the K70 non-RGB for example, it ships with the latest FW available which is more than 2 years old.
