TheSwarm
Hey I don't know if you will be able to help me i have recently purchased a H100i CPU cooler. Having the stock CPU it will still reach temps of 50c when idle, thinking that air may be trapped inside the pump I lay the case on the side to allow the air to escape. However as soon as the case is laying flat the temps of my CPU rise to a all mighty 80c which I am sure is not suppose to happen?
Tokki
How did you mount the radiator? There is usually air trapped in sealed all in one, tomshardware suggested to mount the radiator with inlet and outlet downwards. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/h100i-elc240-seidon-240m-lq320,review-32598-10.html When you say flat.... which way? Motherboard closer to the surface?
TheSwarm
Yes the motherboard was closest side to the desk, also due to me using AMD the mounting bracket wont allow for anything but a side ways pipe input
Tokki
How's your radiator is mounted? Does the temperature goes back to 50oC when making the case stand? If not, check if the CPU cooler is mounted properly?
TheSwarm
I have triple checked the mounting of the CPU cooler and that is on securely. Also the radiator is in the top of the case. Yes the temps do go back down once it is standing. Also i cannot feel or hear the pump moving water
Tokki
Well if you put it that way, an RMA with Corsair support is the way to go. Odd for the temperature to go down when you move the case..... sounds like it's working? I'm not sure how great these H100i are
bob-n-rose
I think the H100i is a fairly nice unit myself, better than some I checked into. Also, make sure you installed it according to the directions. Not to say that you didn't, but I almost did. Figured running the fans out from the case would kill two birds, cool radiator and syphon some hot air but I was wrong, it's just the opposite. And after I thought about it, they are right, you don't want to syphon hot air from inside the case across the radiator to try and cool it. You want the cool outside air coming in and being expelled through the case exhaust fans. Just my 2 cents...
gotto
i mounted my h100i sucking the hot air out and the bottom fan and the fan in the rear sucking in cool air but i'm in an 800D hope that helps
JDAM
I also have an 800D with an H110i radiator in top. I configure both radiator fans for intake. My Intel 3820 Sandy Bridge E runs at 32°C. What’s the pump’s RPMs? You can plug in the pump/radiator assembly into a spare sata power plug on any PC, (you don’t need to plug in the fans, the fan RPM, or the USB connectors) there should be a quiet hum coming from the pump.
