Finick
I'd like to start this off by saying I just upgraded to the 540 from an Antec 300, and I honestly love working inside the 540. It's extremely spacious and just so easy to add and remove stuff. That being said, the case is seriously getting on my nerves. It seems at every turn since I've had it (for around a week now) something new is rattling. First the case was buzzing and I realized that not all of the rubber feet were making contact with my desk. Now it just seems that everywhere the outside plastic is touching the metal is vibrating and rattling, and it's absolutely driving me nuts. I'm not a quiet freak, I don't mind cases making noise, my Antec 300 was far from perfectly quiet. The only difference is that it didn't rattle, it didn't vibrate. I'm really desperate here because I don't want to return this case and get another because I hate shipping stuff back, but I really don't know that I can deal with the constant rattling. Has anyone else encountered this? Do you just ignore it? Did you take the case apart and line the plastic with foam? I've considered some options but for the price I can't help but feel like the case is cheaply made, and it really saddens me to say that because I was looking forward to getting this case for awhile (funds never permitted an upgrade.) Thanks in advance, Steven
wytnyt
obviously the case itself isnt making noise, one of the components are,try to isolate where the vibration originates and go from there...
Finick
Well I pretty much took everything out and added stuff back in one by one, and the issue really isn't from any of those things. Listening it seems to be the plastic strips that sit on the mesh are vibrating and rattling, and the front left plastic panel and top part as well. I could take it all apart and find a way to muffle the noise, I suppose.
wytnyt
mine is dead quiet but i do have most of the plastic removed for building it possibly could be in a plastic piece..
kleox64
I did extensive noise reduction to the panels, rivets, and the frame itself. Will post pictures later.
