H100i screw sizes?

Hey guys

Been on the lookout for different screws for the rad in the h100i, as I wanted short screws to mount the rad on the top of my 750d, and use long screws to mount the fans on the bottom. Came across a place that'll let me order cap socket screws.

For short screws I'd be looking at 6-32 x 1/4"

For long screws I'd be looking at 6-32 x 1 1/4"

Is this right? I heard though that if you don't use washers on the longer screws, you can strip into the fins on the rad. Would a 1" screw work better, or just slightly too short there?

Thanks.

i used 6-32x 1 1/4"

plus 3 of those orange paper washers and it seems to have been better than the standard metal ones,

u may find though that the replacement ones come with Phillips head screws, also buy some black nail polish

as for using or not using washers, it will depend on the case and the material thickness, each manufacturer may be different

As I mentioned, the case will be a 750D.

I forgot to mention, but the replacements I found are button heads, that have an allen key head, not a phillips.

go to a place that specializes in nut/bolts and you can get any type head for like 20 cents each instead of a dollar + at homedepot,lowes,ect...

I'm in the UK and quite remote, so it would honestly be easier for me to just order what I need and have them delivered for a couple of pounds, hence why I'm here just double checking the sizes! :D:

So I guess 1 1/4" will be my best bet for the short screws, with 1" exactly just being a tad on the short side?

if need be you can buy crimping pliers where you just thread the screw in the pliers and can chop off whatever length you need.

i had to do this as i got screws longer than i needed..

Another alternative is to use a dremel with metal cut-off wheels or an angle grinder to cut the excess length off. I did that with some of my bolts because I was only able to find 1 1/2 inch bolts, and the excess was just too long.
