ROGX
Why hasen't corsair closed the gap? instead there making 1500w psu's, which not alout of peaple will buy ,and iv even made a thread, on if i should get the ax860i or ax1200i, the ax1200i is about $150, and it's really to much , at the moment. Why not just close the gap, with a ax1000i, it answers all my problems, in all honestly im thinking about betraying corsair and going for the P2 1000W supernova from evga.. :( c'mon a ax1000i is alout more apealing then the ax1200i.. Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted April 19, 2014 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 19, 2014 Because sometimes the cost of doing a 1000W and 1200W is so close together, it doesn't make sense to offer both. If it costs only $2 more to make a 1000W into a 1200W, then it simply doesn't make sense to offer both. You end up with an overpriced 1000W that nobody will buy if they can buy the 1200W for around the same amount.

Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted April 20, 2014 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 20, 2014 Not quite AXi quality, but certainly on-par with the Evga.
ROGX
HX1050. Problem solved. Not as high quality, Not fully Modular, Not digital, No corsair Link, Not as silent, not Platinum, not as High qaulity as a AXi. So no Problem not solved. Lol, okay you've got me on that one. ahh i guess it's the Ax860i, i just wish if in the future, if wouldn't have sufficient wattage, as i'll have the AXi so i can monitor the wattage, i wish we could step up to something like a AX1200i , and just pay the difference. WesternDreaming
i think that besides coming down to guru's answer, it may be that 860w is overkill unless u have some sort of double card build i have a 860axi running a 2x590 build, and its not pulling everything from the unit at any time because of the efficiency of the axi's the 860 will draw less from the wall and deliver more to the cards than the evga 1000 :P same with the 1200 vs evga's 1500, true fact

Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted April 21, 2014 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 21, 2014 FYI: Higher efficiency does not mean higher quality. It only means higher efficiency. ;):
