Im trying to find a set of ram that fills all 8 slots of ram on the board. I came across this set:

Corsair DOMINATOR Platinum Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 DRAM 2133MHz

Im new to x79, upgrading from x58. Anyone know of any problems running 2 sets of these sticks?

You should be ok. It's not normally recommend in case there's issues. I think your out of luck if you only want to run 32gb and have all 8 slots filled tho. I don't think anybody has 32gb kits with 8 modules. If you wanted a single kit you'd prob have to buy a 64 gb kit. I'd prob do the same thing you are think 2x16gb kits.

It's x79. Aka I have to be better than everybody else platform. Mainly for when you build so much you just say screw it and buy the most expensive stuff you can find so you don't regret not getting that lol.

:D: you nailed it there hood

with my 3 other builds i have some of everything except the x79 so why not

only reason i want to use all slots is because my x58 classified 3 ran much better with all slots full. Ive heard running 2 sets of the same memory is problematic on x79 boards. what is special about x79 that makes this risky?

So you like your set of platinums? im going to move my dual loop config from my x58 system over to my x79. have you monitored your mem temps, if so should i watercool the ram or will everything else other tham ram be fine?
