I am planning to purchase Hydro Series H110 CPU Cooler and installing it on my Gigabyte 945G-DS3 (LGA 775) socket.

Here is a pic of the board:

Just wanted to get your views on whether the mounting bracket will fit. I have previously tried installing my friends' H100i & H80i but both brackets did not fit.

From what I understood so far, models without "i" should be OK as long as they are rotated 90 degrees to fit.

I would really appreciate if someone who has tried it could confirm this before I proceed with the purchase.

Thanks.

You might get interference from the stuff that is close to the socket

However I did manage to get a H100 mounted on to a Socket 775 Board

Thanks, but did you manage to get full contact between the unit and the CPU? Also, was it worth it in terms of temperature difference?

I actually did it to Reduce Noise

However since it did get at similar Temperatures as before ..

I think that at the same noise level it will improve temperatures
