Safe H100i Water Temps?

Hey everyone. I'm a little new to the forums, so here it goes. I purchased an H100i for my 4770K in February (2014). My question is... What's the MAX SAFE temp for the water? I have my 4770k clocked in at 4.5 using 1.300v (-) adaptive (Im still messing around with the voltages and frequencies.... First time building a gaming desktop). Anyways. when hitting 4.5 in BF4, the water temps rise to about 33-36c. I have all two fans set up using the custom curve, so when it hits 31c (water temp), the fans run at full speed, 2500rpm. Personally, anything above 2000 rpm drives me nuts. I really want to lower the rpm, but like I said, the temps go up a few degrees. At 30c, the fan rpm 1600, so I would like to make the max 1900, or 2000 once it hits 31c...

So is It okay for the water temps to hit 33 to (lets say) 37? or would that be way to high. I noticed the tubing in custom water cooling loops (xpsc for example) have a max of 60c. Is 60c the max on the h100i tubes also?

Please help me out with safe water temps. I would really appreciate it.

These numbers are really low. On idle, you can be about the temps you are talking about here, but under load, I REALLY don't think so.

These number differences are really small - wait until you actually start using the CPU! You will probably get to 60-70c.

Run something like Prime95 to load up the CPU (though don't run all of the cores...go with maybe half of the "workers" as Prime95 calls it).

My h100i temp is 85.8 right now with no A/C on maxed out and my cpu temp is between 94.0 and 98.9 and my system is doing ok!! ive had my cpu upto 145 before. if your cpu gets to hot then it will start to throttle itself back and if it really over heats then it will shut down. and those temps are in ferinheight

Hi - most people use °C when discussing PC components...

The max temp for your CPU is generally specific to your CPU. 145 F is not crazy bad, and you are right that most CPU's will reduce speed to minimize heat or shut down if the temp gets too high.

The point of my post was to advise the OP that looking at idle temps is not very meaningful.

Well the main point I was asking for, was what's normal (and not to high) water temps. Currently, when playing battlefield 4, my water temps get up to 35c, and my 4770k reaches 68c (4.5 at 1.290 adaptive using the (-) offset). When idle, my water temps are about 27-28c. I have my custom curve set to the water temps and not the CPU temp. The whole post was about water temp, not the cpu temp. Sorry if I confused you.

Sorry - I did not even realize that the water temps were an issue. I just keep looking at my CPU temps.

FYI, i7 3930k at 4.2GHz and my max CPU temp is ~55-58°C. Next time I will look at the water.

The water temps aren't an issue. I just wanted to know what temps are too high. Basically, what are safe water temps.
