jhno
Good Day! I have an Asrock G41C-GS motherboard + Q6600 Core2Quad For upgrading my memory I have the following DDR3 2X4GB kit: Corsair XMS3 - CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 Computer is not booting. Screen remains black. Any ideas?? Is the above mentioned memory dual sided? Many thanks in advance.
pegotico
First do you have the latest bios installed? should be 1.40 http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/G41C-GS/?cat=Download&os=BIOS 1.30 bios improves memory compatibility, latest version is 1.40. If you havent install latest bios, use your old ram to update bios, and then try again with the ddr3. If you try the memory finder http://www.corsair.com/en/memory-finder you dont get your model, when you upgraded from ddr2 to ddr3, you took out the ddr2 ram as only one of them can be used? Also on the specs it says - 2 x DDR3 DIMM slots - Supports DDR3 1333(OC)/1066/800 non-ECC, un-buffered memory - Max. capacity of system memory: 8GB* 1066 seems to be supported without overclocking, Maybe the memory or that specific one doesnt work. ram1220
By any chance do you have Avast installed? There are people complaining on their forums that a recent upgrade to Avast has been causing the same problem you are having.
