Jacobcollinson
Hi guys, No one responded to my last thread so i will make a new one with more specifics. So i bought a new K95 keyboard which arrived today. After messing around for a long time i have managed to finally get the media buttons and volume controls to work after they had not been working at all up until this point. To do this i had to uninstall the corsair software for the keyboard as well as uninstalling all the drivers and restarting the computer. When re-downloading the software again in order to take advantage of the macro keys, it changes all the driver the keyboard uses and the media keys and volume controls stop working, although all the normal keys work as usual. I have yet to be able to make the macro keys work at all as i cant get the software to make them work, although when i tried it on my brothers computer and downloaded the software it worked fine, so i know its not a hardware problem. I have opened a ticket with corsair but have yet to yield a response and i cannot find anything on this forum, or elsewhere on the internet which have a similar problem! Someone please help! Regards Jacob
wytnyt
if it works on your brothers but not yours then it must be something to do with your computer and a replacement probably wouldnt help. have you tried starting from scratch with a uninstall and redoing things? Jacobcollinson
Yes i have tryed uninstalling completely everything and starting again. orignally not even the media keys and volume controls would work, only after uninstalling everything and restarting the computer would they work, its only as soon as the corsair software driver/config is installed via the downloads page from corsair does it stop working! It seems as if the drivers they provide just do not work or something :/
Toasted
Make sure "Human Interface Device Access" service is running on your computer. Here's a quick guide. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=113001
Jacobcollinson
Hi Toasted, thanks for the reply. I did this step yesterday and the macro keys still do not work. The media and volume keys work fine normally now, but if i open up the k95 software, they stop working until i close it down again...its very confusing why this is happening! Toasted
The service is for the media keys. If the service is not running, the media keys will not work. As for the G-keys, try the MR button and see if that works. MR button>G-KEY>Keystroke or Multiple keystrokes>MR button. Save it to the K95 by clicking "Save to K95" under manage profiles and enable hardware playback, open notepad and test it. Do they work fine? Jacobcollinson
UPDATE So i have narrowed down the problem i believe. The problem seems to be that windows cannot verify the digital signature for the corsair drivers, therefore not allowing me to use the corsair drivers for the keyboard, i have to just use the standard keyboard drivers. I have added the corsair software to my allowed programmes so the firewall isnt effecting it, but dont know what else it could be stopping windows from recognising the digital signature. I have also tried re installing the software numerous times. Any and all help appreciated!
Toasted
Just to check if its a digital signature issue, Open Device Manager and look for the keyboard, right click it>properties and check if there are any errors in the status section. If there is have you tried uninstalling the driver via Device manager and reinstalling it by using the drivers found in the K95 firmware updater? (Install folder/Drivers/X86 or x64/double click dpinst.exe)
