gamword
I have Corsair AX860i Today I just open the power supply, trying to fix a new fan, because the originally fan was really noisy, and I didn’t want to send it in… I cut the wires and fix them in another fan and put everything back together. It didn’t work, the power supply didn’t start. I took it out, tried the original fan, also did not work. Any idea what’s the problem?
Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted April 8, 2014 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 8, 2014 You know it's a PWM fan and it's controlled by the DSP. You probably fried the fan controller.

Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted April 9, 2014 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 9, 2014 Don't know. Don't know what you might have broken while you were poking around in there.
madcratebuilder
I used PWM fan and connect the same colors. So any way to fix it? You can't always go by wire color, you must use the pin assignment.
