Madmullen
Hi I am running the following mem: Ram:Corsair Vengence 16GB (2 X 8GB) Dual Channel @ 1600MHZ (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10) 10-10-10-27 1.50v on a ASrock 990FX Extreme4 I bought this a while ago for my new build as most PC come with 1600MHZ so thats what I went for, I have read that 1833MHZ would be a lot better or even higher. Q1. Would it be worth me getting 16GB 1833MHZ Q2. Would it be better to get 4 X 4GB`s instead of 2 X 8GB`s Q3. I have checked on ASrock site which mem I can use but it doesnt help me much Q4. If the answer to Q2 is yes what would be the best valued mem to buy (I have £130 to spend) or should I buy 2 more 1600MHZ any help would be appreciated
Synthohol
your board and cpu both support 1866, i have 16G Vengeance 1866@DDR2000 and a FX-9590 @5.3g and ill never go back in speed. check my CPU-Z link. 2 8s are better than 4 4s. worth every penny. also just to note, adding more ram from another package is not advised, its preferred and supported to get a single kit in the capacity you desire straight off. (potential compatibility issues by adding ram to existing non-factory matched ram).
