Jeremy1998
I'm basically just wondering if I can RMA my AX1200i for coil whine? Yes, I have confirmed that the noise is a high pitch squeal that comes from the power supply under any amount of load (including idle at under 100 watts). The PSU is plugged straight into a wall and is grounded fine.
JKeifer
Yes, I think so. The answers to a number of posts here suggest that it would be appropriate for you to RMA the power supply if it bothers you.
Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted April 3, 2014 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 3, 2014 Coil whine is a problem that Corsair strives to eliminate. If you have a squealing PSU, by all means RMA it.

"Fan tapping"? I assume you mean the fan is hitting something? Like a wire or the fan grill? That's not good. But buzzing is not an indication of lack of quality control. It's a matter of component selection. All coils, caps, transformers, etc., anything with a wound element (either copper wire or electrolyte film) vibrates at a particular frequency. Typically, this frequency is above normal human hearing, but every once in a while the frequency drops down to an audible level and that is what coil whine is. Jeremy1998
So I just submitted an RMA for the PSU. Will I need to send just the PSU, or the cables and everything too? Because undoing all of my cables would be a MAJOR pain....

Jeremy1998
Astonishing... So I have to completely rip apart my system, AND pay to ship it in to them because I got a defective product. And my H100i died only a few days before this thread was posted. I don't even wanna think about the shipping costs for both of those packages.... I could do an advanced RMA and just swap the PSU in the box with my defective one and send the package back, but then I have to worry about the package arriving in time or I get billed for it.... Also, I just thought of this.... When I bought this PSU, I was told that you can sleeve your modular cables without voiding the warranty... How would that apply in this case if I had sleeved my cables?
