pathfindercod Posted April 2, 2014 Share Posted April 2, 2014 I am redoing my system. I am moving back to x79 setup with a 4960x cpu. Not sure if I am downgrading, upgrading or lateral. Currently have a 4770k, two evga kingpin cards and a air540 case. My main reason for moving back to x79 is tri-sli and the help of the six core cpu to push them. I have my fan tables not he kingpin cards cranked up because they get pretty warm as it is in the air 540. They are only going to get worse with three sandwiched together in 3 way ski. I am staying air cooled. I just don't have the time and energy to deal with water cooling maintenance. SO my question is what would be a good choice to move this stuff into case wise? I had my mind set up the 900d but it really seems to be aimed for water cooling guys and have read air cooling performance is nothing extraordinary. I don't mind spending the money on it if it will work, but what are some good options to hep keep the acc cooled kingpin cards in check? Thank you! pathfindercod Posted April 4, 2014 Author Share Posted April 4, 2014 Thanks! I test fitted there kingpins on my new rampage black and there just isn't enough clearance so i am sticking with dual ski. So i will get great airflow in the 540. Did order all new PWM static pressure 120mm fans to replace the af140's. I am going o retrofit two fans in the bottom in place of the hard drives..
