m0zillaf0x
Hi, I am very interested in the Obsidian 750D, and after browsing some reviews, I noticed (as well as others) that it doesn't seem that the front fans would take in very much air. As I am not a huge fan of stock fans in the cases, I am going to replace the front ones. I was wondering whether to get 2 AF 140mms, or 2 SP140mms. I was thinking the SP's, because they are used to get air through tighter spaces. Help?

I was thinking the SP's, because they are used to get air through tighter spaces. Help? Hello, I'm an owner of a 750d case. I must say that you clearly feel the difference in airflow if you put your hand inside the case in front of the two front fans with and without front panel removed. However I have no temperature problems with my setup. I have a MSI r9 290 gaming TF videocard which doesn't run over 75°C with a maximum auto fan speed of ~50%, while playing games like battlefield 4 on ultra and diablo III. As for cooling my CPU I use a H100i water cooler with two Noctua 120mm SP fans. I haven't replaced any of the stock case fans and I can't complain. But if you were to put SLI or Crossfire I would consider leaving the front panel off or modding it with holes. I don't know if SP fans would be much better. They will be better but maybe not as much as keepin the AF fans and leaving the front panel off. gz
m0zillaf0x
Okay, thanks. I was just confused about the airflow, so your answer sure helped. I take it that you meant that SP or AF doesn't exactly matter, right? And exactly how big is the case? It doesn't seem like pictures do much justice for it. With AF fans you will get a lot more airflow but Corsair should've put SP fans at the front because of the tight space it needs to drag air from. And to see how big the case is, check following video: [ame= ] [/ame]

I understand that, and I was wondering which fan would get more air IN through the tight space.

So SP's would be better at the FRONT?

So SP's would be better at the FRONT? Yes, they should theoretically. I think they will since those are optimized for moving as much air trough tight spaces like radiators etc.

MojoVersion8
unfortunately there are no 140mm SP fans as of yet, when they do I'll be buying some for the front intake of my 750D as well
