blackops
If your bottom psu is facing down then you're likely to kill it by placing the case on the carpet and obstructing airflow. Why doesn't Corsair provide a safety net by raising the psu by a few mm or a cm so it can still take in air from the case if the external vent is obstructed, similar to what another popular brand do with their cases? ThePCEnthusiast
Because if you really need to place your CPU on a carpeted floor, the solution is to turn your PSU up side down. The fan would be sucking air from the inside. That's why no matter what orientation you used, the sticker on the side of the PSU is always right side up. ^_^
WesternDreaming
when i clean my desk, i dont leave my comp powered while moving it around... too many expensive moving parts, and ofc if you have no choice but to use dynamic placements then there are a slew of cases that use side mounting and side intake solutions :D
jlhawn
common sense would tell you to put something under the case to raise it up a inch off the floor. I tell everyone I build a system for to not sit their system on carpet, I even tape a note on the system case so they don't forget by the time they get home after picking up their system. but 90% of the time I deliver and setup and give them instructions. but either way it's just common sense, and if your case did not come with a filter in the bottom for the psu then buy one or make one. it's not Stem Cell Research for crying out loud.
