filenotfound
im considering upgrading my cpu cooler to an H100i, and i was wondering about the fans. I have a corsair 500R case, and my current cpu cooler is using 2 corsair SP120s. Are the SP120s better then the 2 supplied fans on the H100i? also im using 2 120mm bitfenix spectre pro fans at the top of my 500R case. they are on the top outside, and im planning on mounting the H100i to the top inside. So im planning on doing a push/pull config for it. would it be better to have the 2 spectre fans (high airflow fans) there or should i use the SP120s (high static pressure fans. or default fans and SP120s on the pushing side, if they are more powerful). i know high pressure fans are good for pushing air through a heatsink/radiator, but what about the fans pulling? is it better to have high airflow or high static pressure? HOODedAssault
They are same fin design but the supplied fans go to a higher rpm.
filenotfound
They are same fin design but the supplied fans go to a higher rpm. thanks for fast reply. any opinion on airflow vs static pressure fans for the pulling fans on the other side of radiator? (should i use SP120s or spectre pros?). ill probably test both either way just to see for myself, but wondering if anyone has experience or testing done on something like this. (think most people use high static pressure on both sides, but i was thinking the high static pressure pushing, with high airflow pulling that hot air out, may be better then another set of static pressure fans). HOODedAssault
I ran the supplied fans as pull and sp120's as push when I had my h100i. Just used a fan controller to match the fans rpm. Using different fans could cause unwanted dead air or turbulence in the rad area.

HOODedAssault
Ya at the time I assumed since fin design is the exact same then matching rpm should match the spec at that rpm as well. Of course with EXACT same fans it's definite. If your using 2 different fans you want high cfm fans as pull and high static pressure fans in push. Still wouldn't recommend it tho. Trial and error is the only way to find out what works best for ones system tho.
snapper69
I've just bought a H100i to go into my 750D case, but I've been hearing mixed reports about the supplied fans being noisy. I have several 120 Akasa Apache Black fans left over from my recent rebuild. These fans are really quiet but still seem to move a fair quantity of air. Has anyone tried these fans on an H100i, either 2 or 4 fans? I was also wondering if it would help the cooling if I reversed the rear case fan to pull cooler air in? snapper69
Static pressure is 2.64. Airflow is 57.53 cfm. Noise 6.9 -16.05 dB(A). Speed 600 - 1300rpm. They are very quiet, I used 5 of them on my previous build and could barely hear them. I was thinking about using 4 of them in a push pull configuration. snapper69
Thanks for that. I didn't want to install it with the standard fans and then have to take it apart again to swap them. To be honest I'm getting a bit fed up with taking it apart, I'd like to just use it for a while, in peace and quiet of course. Now if only Corsair would send me a new front panel (Ticket 6441833), I could sort out the few remaining niggles, put the case together and compute. HOODedAssault
If it wasn't for the tinkering i prob wouldn't own a computer. I spend more time messing with overclocks then i do gaming most weekends lol.
snapper69
Trouble is I've been doing that for 15 years. I rebuilt this computer in November 2013, it had a Coolit Eco water cooler, which leaked and destroyed my graphics card ( thank God I hadn't installed my new GTX770) and my motherboard, at which point I said "Never again" to water cooling and bought a huge Alpenfohn air cooler. So I had to rebuild it. In Feb I saw the Obsidian 750 D, so I had to rebuild it again. Then I got fed up with the Alpenfohn, it really is huge and the fan mounting system is c**p, so I decided to get the H100i. My wife thinks that I've spent enough.
