domoarigato
Hi Corsair Forums, I just built a new PC yesterday. Installed the H100i as directed (3 pin connector onto motherboard CPU fan connector, USB connector to motherboard, and fans to fan header on the h100i). After installing the OS / getting drivers sorted, my computer was still extremely loud. I tried various builds of corsairlink (carefully removing old profiles / cleaning registry after each uninstall), and the fans would not change its mode regardless of what I selected (quiet, performance, balance, etc etc). The firmware currently installed is v 1.0.7, and I'm running the latest drivers. http://media.bestofmicro.com/N/A/365014/original/corsair-h100i-install-2.jpg Frustrated, I decided to disconnect a few fans to find the culprit as well switch the USB connection on the motherboard. It turns out that one of the fan connectors shown above blows the fans at 100% no matter what setting is in corsair link. After switching to the fan connector next to it, the problem immediately went away. The computer quieted down as soon as corsairlink started each time and loaded the user profile. Is my unit faulty? or am I overlooking something? I want to run a 4 fan push/pull setup but I cannot do it if the fan controller if bad. Its a bummer it was faulty out of the box :( I will RMA if I have to, but I prefer not to have any downtime if possible. Thanks in advance for any input / advice. Belgarius
From a similar experience I had with the H100, I'd say it may be faulty, however, I am by no means an expert. If you haven't already done so, I would suggest opening a ticket with Tech Support. On my old H100, once it was determined that the block fan control had gone out, they were kind enough to offer an RMA on a unit that I've had since it came on the market. They would also be able to make a decision regarding an advance RMA. As yours is presumably a recent purchase, I would think things would go rather smoothly. IMO, they have a great support department.
pontush
Have you tried removing all drivers and then only install latest set of drivers and NOT the firmware? When you got ur fans plugged to Link Commander you should NOT upgrade your firmware cause then they stop working. It's made for USB Dongle or smth like that. The h100i seems far from being stable enough to be on the market. Have you tried removing all drivers and then only install latest set of drivers and NOT the firmware? Tried your suggestion, no go :( The firmware once upgraded stays no matter what installing / uninstalling you do. Thanks guys for the suggestions. If I don't hear back from them by Friday I will return to the merchant I bought it from and let them deal with the RMA.
wytnyt
working thru your retailer would be your fastest source to go,,even tho you may have a faulty unit, you really wont find a better hydro than the h series, one bad one doesnt make em bad as a whole... domoarigato
Just going to leave an update here... I ended up returning to the retailer after not hearing any update from my support ticket. After a week of receiving my new unit, corsair finally replied but I haven't bothered responding... Zero problems with this one *knocks on wood* no weird sounds, fan ports functioning 100%.
