Battlecry
After returning the Corsair 1500 v2 due to poor driver and software support, I decided to pick up a Corsair Vengeance 1400 to use with an ASUS Xonar DGX sound card. Unfortunately I have run into a problem of sorts with this headset as well... While music, movies (as far as I can tell) sound fine - but when playing Battlefield 4 and 3, the highs (sound effects that are supposed to be loud and pronounced like explosions, etc) sound very dull in relation to the other game sounds compared to both my Siberia v2 (connected to the same soundcard using the exact same settings) and the Corsair 1500 v2 with the v1.1 drivers. I am using 7.1 surround in windows, and in my DGX control panel I am using 8 Channel input and Dolby Headphone. I've tried messing around a bit with the EQ but am not sure if this will change anything seeing as though the Siberia v2 produces vibrant, pronounced and crisp sounds for explosions et al. Is there any setting I am glossing over that should be changed? Or is it possible my Corsair 1400 is defective?
sandstorm1
I cant see the headset being bad, its only happening on bf games. sounds like a game setting somewhere, I dont play those titles so personally I have no clue. try swapping down to 5.1 and see if it makes a change. Battlecry
Swapping it to 5.1 as the source made no change. I am not sure how it could be the game because I am using the same settings and soundcard with both headsets. I can switch headsets while in-game and will notice the difference. Is there a specific equalizer setting anyone can recommend me to boost the highs?
