Liquid_Static
This is extremely frustrating. I RMA'd a PSU (HX750 gold) in November due to a noisy fan. The unit I received was much better and I was quite happy. However, the replacement PSU I received is defective. Although it worked fine for a few months, last night I was doing a bit of video rendering and the computer shut down...the error? "Asus Overvoltage Error". My motherboard automatically turned off the system because the PSU voltages fell out of ATX spec, in that case the 3.3v rail dropped to 2.8v. This bugged me a bit so I went to our campus' OIT (office of information technology) where they have a PSU tester. The results were extremely disappointing. At a 600w load the 12v rail dropped to 11.228v, and the 3.3v dropped to 3.124v. Needless to say the PSU is out of my computer, I can;'t afford to have any damaged components. I'm a big fan of Corsair products and I think you guys make some of the best stuff on the market, but I really need to be able to use my PC (I'm a student). Can someone from Corsair please help?
