verney
Hi everyone, i have a h100i on a 4670k. its been on 6months and i noticed it was idleing at 40 so i turned the fans up for a while because i had them on low. After a few days there was no change so i decided to reseat the heatsink. Now idle temps are up to 60 and coolant temps just kept raising, i turned off at 50. Ive reseated it 3 times using different methods of applying thermal paste and using the nylon washers fornthe heatsink. Ive contacted customer support but had no reply. Im hoping someone here can reassure me everything will be ok lol going without a pc for a few days is driving me crazy.
JKeifer
From your description of the symptoms, unfortunately, I don't think things will get better. I think the cooling system, probably the pump, was dying a slow death. I'd initiate an RMA and get that cooler replaced.
verney
yeah i kind of figured that after looking through a few forums :( gone through RMA, bit of a long process because of the time difference to the UK and also having to phone up because my credit card got declined. but hopefully all sorted and should receive new cooler asap :)
JKeifer
Good luck to you for a short turnaround time! The Global economy is great but it does have its issues as well.
MacNB
yeah i kind of figured that after looking through a few forums :( gone through RMA, bit of a long process because of the time difference to the UK and also having to phone up because my credit card got declined. but hopefully all sorted and should receive new cooler asap :) I recently had to RMA and I had no issues with the service. It was straight forward: I raised a ticket with all the details (even uploaded a sound file of the issue). Got a reply within a day stating RMA was approved. Then I called them via Skype (free phone) and talked with a a nice guy to ask for an Express RMA and rerun pickup. Following day, I get an email from UPS (and Corsair) stating my unit is on its way to the UK and I got it in two days (from Holland). Brilliant service.
