the_angry_angel
I've been checking out the forums and YouTube to try and figure out if the noise my H100i is making is normal. It seems awfully loud even when set in Quiet mode. Perhaps I've been spoiled with my previous build, but I'd appreciate it if another owner/someone from corsair could take a listen. The clip is after the box has been booted and idle at the desktop for about 10 minutes, in Quiet mode. The clip doesn't really do it justice (i have to jack up the volume to make it comparable), however thats from about 10-15 cm away with an iPhone. Part of the sound is the gfx card, but that's negligible as temporarily removing the power from the h100i and booting the box is significantly quieter. I've checked that nothing is rubbing against the fans, reorientated them, etc. with no joy. I'm just having difficulty figuring out if this is normal or a fault - that way I can figure out what I'm gonna do about it ultimately, as I don't think I have live with it (this is my primary work box). doctorwizz
My H100i is very silent on quiet mode. Is that from the fans or the pump? Sounds like something is wrong with yours.
dburne
Mine is much quieter than that, on the default mode it is in ( do not have Link software installed). I believe the default is Balanced. I would RMA it for that.
the_angry_angel
Thanks guys for your thoughts guys, much appreciated. It appears to be the fans, as far as I can tell.
Max10
@ the_angry_angel "It appears to be the fans, as far as I can tell." Thats the reason i mounted a pair of Noctua NF-F12 PWM fans on the rad. Never tought about rma the supplied fans for that noisy sound, i presumed it was the sound they produce but when this is not the case i will considering.
