Corsair Valueram DDR400 on Epox 8RDA+

Hello everybody,

today I swapped my three Infineon modules (256MB, CL2.5, DDR333) for two Corsair Valueram DDR400, 512MB, CL2.5. My old modules worked at 166MHz with 2-2-2-5 timings. With the new modules I can't go further than 2.5-3-3-7 at 166MHz. Even changing the settings to 2.5-3-3-6 gets me a lot of errors in memtest86. I also tried 180MHz with 2.5-3-3-8 and 166MHz FSB/200MHz RAM with 2.5-3-3-8 timings, with the same results. Vdimm is 2.75V on my Epox 8RDA+ (rev. 1.1).

Is this a compatibility issue?

TIA

Jan

Sorry, I just forgot to mention my system.

I'm running an Athlon XP2600 (166MHz FSB), Ati Radeon 9700 (standard clock), Creative Audigy, Epox 8RDA+, Chieftec PSU (360W). With my old memory, everything works fine at 166MHz FSB, even with 2-2-2-5. When I tested at 180MHz FSB, i reduced the multiplier of the CPU, so it ran at the same clockspeed as before. The board should also do 180MHz.

TIA

Jan
