Default RMA without receipt?

I have a hx750 that is defective, buzzing sound. I brought it about 4 years ago from microcenter and don't have the receipt for it any longer.

I tried rma'ing the psu and was told I cannot do it without the receipt, when this policy go in place? should the psu be able to be verified by the manufacturing date as this supposedly has a 7 year warranty on it.

any help here?

Where did you purchase the product from? If you purchased from Amazon, you can find its invoice from your previously purchased items. However, if purchased from a PC Store which provided a physical receipt, you may not be able to RMA the item if there is no proof of purchase, but don't quote me on that as Corsair may still accept it, but I know they requested a proof of purchase for a product I am currently sending for RMA.

Contact MicroCenter and they can provide you with a copy of your receipt.

Our warranty has always required a receipt. As the agent told you in your ticket, the manufacturing date cannot be used.
