Chippyboy
Hi folks - first post here so I hope someone can help? I am looking to buy a new gaming PC and very close to buying a C1 i164 or i165. However, before I hit the <buy> button, I need to be sure I will be able to encrypt the drives? I don't mind if it's with Bitlocker or Device Encryption, but I also use my computer for banking and storing all my financial data, so I absolutely need to be able to encrypt everything. I did not give this a moment's thought until just now, and now I find that the C1 bios does not support the TPM header on the motherboard - at least that's what I have been told. So that would seem to rule out Device Encryption in Windows Home. Can anyone confirm they are successfully using Bitlocker (or Device Encryption)? nodezeon
Bitlocker encryption is possible without the TMP chip. You can save the backup encryption file to either a microsoft account a txt file or just print it. Obviously just ensure you put that somewhere safe! Corsair Employee Corsair Mint Posted June 8, 2020 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 8, 2020 We've had reports from users in the past who were able to encrypt their systems and had to decrypt them prior to sending in a unit for servicing. Also, some general good practices online, such as not saving your password, making sure to log out fully and using two-factor authentication.
