dronnen
Hello guys. I want to update my firmware on my Corsair Force 3 SSD HD. But when I go into BIOS to change from IDE-> ACHI on controller mode, my windows fails to boot up, and I get a blue screen before windows can start EVERY TIME! Please, can somebody help me ? Thanks for all the answers.
winoni71
The boot fails because you installed Windows while the controller was set to IDE. I found this solution: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=313676. I never did this, so I don't know if it actually works or if it's safe. So either way you will fail unless you are using that drive as a non boot drive.

There are sticky posts here on how to switch the operating system from IDE to AHCI.
jucedogi
really? then I must've misread on one of the threads... or maybe it was just the case of how to possibly solve the not being able to update issues? Anyways, good to know.
