I also on the 1500v with Win 7 x64 and everything up to date ( drivers, bios, whatnot ) I also get the really distorted bass in anything.. BF3, YouTube, Win player, VLC, only way I can even get anything worth listening is to turn down all the sound channels below the half way mark

Windows 7 64bit. Asusz77 chipset. One month old build.
*Edit*Vengeance 1500

Please list the following so we can get more information:
1.) Is surround on or are you on bypass mode? Both
2.) What preset are you using? Tried all
3.) What player are you using and what type of format is the file (MKV, MP3, FLAC, etc)? MP3, FLAC, Grooveshark, CD's.
4.) Have you been able to confirm this issue on a different machine? No
5.) Is there a way you can repeat the steps? Does the crackle happen randomly? All the time with bass in the EQ only up in the 3/4 range but there are distinct tiny crackles in all modes.

I've tried the various fixes above but alas to no avail. The new drivers look promising though.. Where can we download the v1.1 driver please?

*3dosh* Yes in response to below, I have the 1500 .. sorry forgot to fill that in and thank you for the link.

I take it you have 1500 because that seems to be where the problems at.

1500 here so far all it good (just Music so far) They improved the Dolby reveres sounds its not fully gone but its much better and now think I can use the Dolby mode.

Clicking left speaker I can tell it now plays out left side, were before it sounded like it was coming out right.

Thanks for the update guys, but the previous drivers for the Vengeance 2000 headset sounded a lot better. Some issues i'm experiencing:
- The bass sounds like I've put a subwoofer on my head in any mode
- Everything sounds dull/muffled. The fresh, crispy and clear sound (in for example movies) is gone. (With the previous driver I was able to hear sounds in a movie of which I didn't know existed. Now I'm missing that terribly.)
- "16 bits, 48000 Hz (Dvd-quality)" max. Siriously guys? Where is at least the 24bit mode? It don't ask for a 192000Hz mode but 24bit at least.
- It seems that the loudest block in the frequency range gets boosted and all the quiet ranges get muted. Only turning of the dolby mode (the big power button) does prevent this. So it seems to be an issues in the dolby driver? (This could produce the dull/muffled sound addressed above.)

Anyways, I've returned to the previous driver cause this just made it worse and made me unable to produce any music.

Can you really tell the difference between 16bit and 24bit?? Because I sure can't lol

Hell my Sound card does 192000HZ and I can't tell the difference between CD or studio lol

I have the 1500, These new drivers are working great (I used to have an issue with the old drivers where left and right were reversed but this fixed it). However I use this headset on multiple computers, and the DD effect turns off every time I switch PC's.

Is there any way to force it on every time I connect my headset?

Also just noticed, using the new drivers on my work laptop, the audio and mic seem to work properly (all 7.1 channels) but the mute control flashes red and blue

Back to the old drivers.

The 'source' selector drop down box seems to introduce more problems than it solves. Having it anything other than 7.1 results in severe distortion when playing back anything - stereo MP3, 5.1 FLACs, random things from youtube, and even system sounds. Unfortunately, leaving it at 7.1 all the time seems to disable prologic from ever actually enabling, so bass gets culled right out and the sound is weedy and flat.

Identical effects on a laptop, (W8x64 desktop, W7x86 laptop) all with a v1500. Can't try my 2000 until tomorrow since spouse borrowed it for a train journey.

Very distorted sound. It can be clearly heard with speech, as apposed to music... At least while the Dolby is on. Without it being on, 7.1 with surround sound on, the overall sound is really loud. I'm on 5 volume (Win7 master volume) and 50% on Youtube and already the sound is at a nice listening level. So it's harder to finely adjust volume.

My mic switch/volume adjuster is also flashing red/blue when it's muted, else it stays blue when active. This also happens when the corsair drivers are not installed.

But I'll say goodjob Corsair for fixing the mic whine noise problem we've had. It seems adding the Line level solved it? At least for me it did.

It seems like any EQ preset that increases the bass (30hz slider) above 0 introduces distortion to the lower bass. This mp3 from audiocheck.net has been really nice for testing: http://www.audiocheck.net/Audio/audi...cychecklow.mp3

Lol.. oh no..... Before; every time you restarted on v1.1 you had to reconfigure windows control sound panel to 5.1. Now we've got to pull out then reconnect the USB cable..... expect the next update in 3 months everybody - with little to zero communication about it's status. Not good.

Mind you.. this article sold the 1500 for me: http://www.everythingusb.com/corsair...t-21427-2.html I have got this bit of gear sounding really really good with settings/eq etc: it's quality kit.
