After two months, still no fix for RGB flickering after latest Major Windows 10 upgra

My RGB worked for for my LL120's, h100i Platinum SE Pump, and my Corsair RGB Strips...however like many others, my RGB began to flicker uncontrollably after the latest Microsoft Windows 10 update. Thousands of people have taken to these forums to report their frustration with this issue. We have spent hundreds of dollars upgrading our PC with the latest Corsair RGB Hardware only for it to be rendered useless thanks to the Windows 10 update. My entire RGB has been turned off until a fix is made in the future. When this fix will be rolled out is still a mystery. Surely there are others who are in the same boat, wondering when we will have control of our PC's RGB functionality again. Others have suggested rolling back the update or removing it all together but I have found that to be impossible since Microsoft does not allow me to remove the latest major update from the computer. Has anyone been able to find a fix for this? Corsair, although have been very helpful in the past, are completely stumped when it comes to this major issue. Perhaps we will just have to wait for Microsoft to come up with a fix? I am very disappointed that I am unable to use my PC's RGB that I spent so much money on.

I think it's just you two and I have not seen any connection between running 2004 and flickering. One thing is for sure, Windows updates can be disastrous on drivers. In the past, I have had problems with sound drivers and they have to be reinstalled. I would suggest first trying a repair installation of iCUE from the Windows Settings -> Apps panel. Click on Corsair iCUE and select "modify". That will not alter your saved data.

If it does not work, you may need to do a clean install. First, go to your C:Users/(name)/App Data (hidden)/Roaming and copy and paste the "Corsair" folder to the desktop. Those are all your saved profiles and settings. Uninstall iCUE and check the box to delete the settings. Reboot and reinstall. See if the lighting corrects on the clean slate. If it does, you can try dropping your Corsair folder back into the roaming location, then restart iCUE to get your old data back. If it then does not work, the corruption is in the profile data.

This is a fresh install of the latest version of Windows from a flash drive. Icue was installed after that. It only happens when I have 8 ll120s activated on rainbow patterns or anything other than static colors. If I have 6 ll120s connected to the node pro that came with the case it’s fine, if I connect 2 additional through the rgb on the h100i plat se, the flickering starts with the 2 fans connected and the heat sink. 6 is fine in any combination but 8 is an issue.

There are other reasons for flickering, most of which are more probable than a native change in the OS that theoretically should affect everyone on 2004.

One thing that is becoming more and more of an issue is a lack of 5v strength from the PSU. More specifically what happens with too much on one ribbon coming from the PSU. Are the LNP and the Platinum on the same shared SATA cable coming off the PSU? Is there anything else on there that uses 5v, like drives? If the Platinum and the LNP are on the same mutli-connector, try moving one off to another cable from the PSU.

I only have the cooler and the node pro on the sata cable. I added a second and just attached the cooler to it and it does the same thing.

That would seem to rule out current sharing issues. The other thing to try would be temporarily disconnecting the LNP to verify the Platinum works normally on its own. If it does or does not, open a support ticket with Corsair to let them know there is an issue. In the iCUE settings, turn on the debug logging in the lower right corner. They may need those. • 5 weeks later...

I have recently opened a ticket with corsair about the issue and the response I got back was...

"Thank you for contacting Corsair.

My apologies for the inconvenience with the LED issue of your cooler. Our software specialist is aware of the issue and they are now looking into it. This may fix by a future iCUE update but as of the moment we are unable to provide an estimated date when it will be fixed. I would recommend checking updates from our Corsair forums (https://forum.corsair.com/v3/index.php) to get the latest updates from our products. If you have concerns and questions feel free to contact us back. Thank you for choosing Corsair and Have a great day!

Regards,

Jennifer S."

this pretty much tells me its not just me and is a huge problem customers have been having. The fact that customers have had this issue come up right after the latest big windows update cant just be a coincidence. So now we just wait and see if anything will be done about it. I'm crossing my fingers because im starting to lose confidence in Corsair and that they will find a fix for this. Like I've stated earlier, I have invested a lot of money into corsair rgb products and it would be a shame if they were deemed obsolete due to a technical glitch from no fault of my own. I'm considering demanding a refund at this point.
