rscott1691
It appears two of the 8 wires are going to the PCIe 8 pin cable are going to the same slot, thus leaving one slot without a wire going to it. I’m hoping it’s just two ground wires but I’m not sure.is this common to have a missing wire. I don’t want to short my GPU and wanted to check. That's normal. 8 pin PCI-e cables have 3 x 12V wires and 5 x GND wires. 8 pin EPS and Corsair's sockets use 4 x 12V connectors and 4 x GND connectors, therefore one of the GND is split into 2, leaving one of the 12V pins unused.
