stelaras Posted April 12, 2008 Share Posted April 12, 2008 Hello, I just bought the CORSAIR 1GB VS1GSDS333 SODIMM 333MHZ for my Toshiba Satellite A40-231 which has 2 slots and 256 MB RAM in each one. I wonder which slot I must use since I bought one piece and I intend to displace only the one 256 MB piece. In addition, do I have to do anything with the BIOS? Thanks!! salkari Posted April 13, 2008 Share Posted April 13, 2008 I heard from numerous sources that placing such two very different ram chips causes latency problems in ur system. something like, the system is under the impression that the time for information to pass through the 1gb ram is the same as it is for the smaller 256mb. which it is not, it takes longer for the 1gb chip.
