snowcomm
I recently purchased an LGA 1366 motherboard running dual xeons on a budget workstation build. My motherboard (http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/QPI/5500/X8DAL-i.cfm) comes with an two preinstalled (non-removable) LGA 1366 back plates. I purchased a couple Cooler Master 212 EVO's which claim they can be attached to LGA 1366, but NOT server LGA 1366 motherboards because that always come with pre-installed (non-removable) back plates. I was forced to temporarily purchase the intel stock coolers which fit the server LGA 1366 back plate, however they're painfully loud. If the H55 fits the server LGA 1366 back plate, I'll purcahse 2 of them immediately. I just want validation that they fit. Anyone know?
StealthGaming
I don't believe the backplate has a different thread count for standoffs vs the Asetek backplate included with the H55 cooler. The rest of the mounting system will be the same. A Corsair employee can verify this information if correct.
snowcomm
Thanks, I think you're right. I just don't feel like buying it, having it not fit, RMAing it, and then incurring the large restocking fee.
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted April 27, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 27, 2015 I checked with our engineer, the H55 should be fine with that stock backplate.
sagemode
Sorry to bring this question back from 2015. Can a corsair employee confirm that an H60 2018 model would work with an X8DAL-i with LGA 1366 Dual Xeon Processor 5600 Series with stock back plate? Thank you
