First steps with iCUE

Hello

Excuse my english

Although I have iCUE software installed some weeks ago, yesterday was my first use seriously because I started to use a Void Pro RGB Wireless headsets and the ST100

Both devices are perfectly recognized by the software but I have some doubts:

Do I need to create a profile? Which is the use of to create a new profile? Where can I read about how to do it? How can I to synchronize the ilumination of both devices (and which more in the future) pressing only one botton or in a easy way?

Why both devices don't have exactly the same type of iluminations? For example in headsets I see breathing and beat and they arenot in ST100 and in ST100 I see Ripple and Gradual and they are not in headsets. And more important, in headsets I see "Without effect", but it is not in ST100

Thanks in advance for your help

The effects are different for the devices because of different capabilities and number of LEDs. For example, Ripple doesn't really make sense on the headset because there's really just one LED.

You can synchronize the effects using a Lighting Link effect. Lighting Link applies to all devices.

And the headset has "without effect" so that you can turn off the RGB to extend the battery life. It does make a difference.

Thanks for your reply DevBiker

I understand now why the effects are differents in both devices but I still have some doubts about the synchronization of both devices.

What is a Lighting Link effect? Is not possible, if for example I have red colour (or rainbow or any other effect) in the headsets, to pulse a botton and have the same effect in all the rest of the devices? And is possible to have for example rainbow in headsets and rain in ST100?

I don't understand neither why I have "without effect" in headsets and I don't have it in ST100. This is neccesary to turn off the ilumination in ST100, right?

As you can see, I have some doubts abut the performance of iCUE with the devices

Thanks for all your help

Lighting Link: it's one of the options when you go into the Lighting Effects for any device - it's one of the columns (Predefined - Custom - Lighting Link).

Lighting Link specifically goes across ALL devices. And yes, you can have both Rainbow and Rain in Lighting Link.

The "No Effect" isn't there for the ST100 because it's not wireless and there's no specific need for it to be there. You can remove all effects or turn them off. "No Effect" is simply an easier way to do that for the headset to save battery life. Battery life is irrelevant for the ST100.

really thank you for your replies and your help DevBiker

If you allow me, I would like to comment/ask you a couple of questions more for I can have all my doubts solved

Understood, I see, Lighting Link is one of the columns with the ilumination options in each device.

For example in headsets I see predetermined and Lighting Link and in ST100 I see predetermined, personalized and Lighting Link

I see too that Lightning Link "works" for all devices at the same time, but what would happen if I want one of the Lighting Link effects in headsets (for example rainbow) and another different effect from the Lighting Link in ST100 (for example rain), at the same time? This is not possible?

About the "No effect" that appears in headsets but not in ST100, then if for example I have selected rainbow effect in the ST100, how can I turn off the effects on it if I don't have available the option of "No effect" like in headsets?

I have one last and important question if anybody could explain me or write me some link where I can read about it, what for are exactly te profiles that can be created? What it is their use? Is it easy to create one?

Really thanks for all your help

While Lighting Link does apply to all devices, if you don't want the effect on a specific device, you can turn it off by clicking the icon at the very left of the effect in the effects list. It'll change to an "eye" with a line through it. That disables the effect for the channel. Multiple effects can be stacked, even Lighting Link effects, so yes, what you are asking is possible. And a whole lot more.

Effects can be turned off in the manner that I mentioned above. Also, in "Instant Lighting", you can turn off all lighting by selecting black.

As for the profiles that can be created - there's a lot of options and even more options with more devices. You can check out publicly available profiles at https://lewisgerschwitz.com/ and at http://alex.krastev.org/.

You can also learn lots of additional information at the FAQ link in my signature as well as my viewing the YouTube video tutorials linked on the home screen in iCUE.

really thank you very much again for your messages and help DevBiker

About the profiles, I have to read and study a lot, because I don't know yet about what is their use or purpose. I think that they "only" are for have all devices synchronized with very good and spectacular ilumination effects, but I dont know how to load one of this profiles and their possibilities

I have to check too the FAQ link in your signature

The only thing that I can't find on iCUE of your last message is this:

"if you don't want the effect on a specific device, you can turn it off by clicking the icon at the very left of the effect in the effects list. It'll change to an "eye" with a line through it. That disables the effect for the channel."

I can't find in the screen this icon to do this. I see "Instant Lighting", where I can turn off all lighting by selecting black colour, but no the other option

Thanks again for all your help

Thank you very much for your reply and help again DeviBiker

As you can see in the two pictures that I attach, I only had one more question about this

In this first picture I show how in ST100 device, on the left of the screen, inside "lighting effects", I have what you told me yesterday, "lighting link", where I can pulse on the eye and disable the effect

https://ibb.co/1Ljsjfy

But in the screen of the headsets, I don't have anything inside "lighting effects", and I don't understand why this is different

Thanks for all you help again

thanks again DevBiker, but I don't understand the relation of this that you told me with the fact that I can't have one lighting link in ST100 and another different in headsets and neither the possibilitie of pulse on the icon of the eye to calncel there this effect

Do you know if exists a tutorial for rookies or anything where I can read and know about how to use and the possibilities of iCUE? Because I think I started by the end and I am pretty lost and have a big mental mess with this software and how to use it because I don't know even the easiest and like that is impossible to me have anything clear and only I ask and ask

Thanks for your help again
