donalgodon
I have a system with two 140mm PWM 4-pin Noctua fans for intake and three of these for out. http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/casefans/dynamic-series/dynamic-x2-gp-12 I don't think these are PWM. Would the Corsair Commander Pro be able to control speed on all these fans?
Zotty
Shouldn't be a problem dude.. the later versions of Link (and commander pro firmware) allow you to select fan type.... auto/4 pin/3 pin are the options. Imho.. its a good unit and a worthy addition to any system. but beware,, it leads to other purchases the wife might not like lol....
c-attack
Yes, the Corsair Commander Pro can handle control for 3 pin DC or 4 pin PWM fans. Whether or not a C-Pro will be beneficial depends on your goal here. If you are looking for desktop software control of your case fans, it will work. However, it doesn't look like you need Corsair RGB fan control, a Corsair cooler, or temperature probes (maybe) that require Link or the C_pro. If those are not priorities or needs, then there may be a simpler solution you can live with.
Zotty
you need Corsair RGB fan control, a Corsair cooler, I did say "it leads to other purchases the wife might not like lol" its a Dangerous game your bank manager wont like either lol
c-attack
I did catch that, but the unmarried might miss the crowbar like subtlety.;): Now that I look again, it is an mini-atx build so likely poor choices in motherboard fan headers. Just some extra control options might be the main goal.
donalgodon
If I just want to add a couple of basic RBG strips, can I do that easily? I don't have RGB fans or any other sort of hub.
DevBiker
Yup, it will do everything that the Lighting Node Pro does. It has 2 RGB channels where you can have up to 4 strips each. Which means you would just need to get the expansion pack (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16811978009) rather than the kit with the LNP. True. I'm now trying to catch up with Zotty on the RGB front. He's got a head start tho. It may require a 12 step program.

LOL.. unless some bigger corsair glass cases happen I have no room for any more rgb'z once I have the H150i lol... although... once that goes in i will lose the hd fan sitting on top of the psu shroud atm as it will be on the bottom of the 360 rad.. and as my PSU was second hand meaning i have no warranty meaning i am going to fit a hd120 in it! :D:;)::p:

rschissler
Based on my experience trying a couple 3 pin fans for my M.2 SSD, Commander Pro can control them, but at only full speed rpm or half speed rpm. If I was you, I would get 4 pin fans.
