Question HX620 Shutdown/Restart problem

Hi all,

I am currently having a problem with HX620 and Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 v2 mobo. When restarting windows the machine will switch off. This is not limited to windows as it will also do the same with a DOS boot, or even when exiting out of the bios. It started to do this infrequently, however it now does it every time. I have tried resetting the factory defaults in the bios, and also flashing to the newest bios revision without any luck. Also, pressing the reset button will power the system off.

Does this sound like the PSU or the mobo??

Thanks for any assistance.

It sounds like it could be an issue with the power button on the case. If you disconnect the power and reset buttons from the motherboard, can you duplicate the same issues?

(you can bridge the PWR pins that the power button connects to with a paperclip to power the system up)
