Coruser
When I power on my pc the fan of my brand new gs700 2013 edition psu starts to spin to full rpm with a quite loud noise and then the fan turns off and gradually comes to a stop. The process last maybe 7-8 seconds. Is this normal or the the fan supposed to run all the time in this psu? (the noise doesn't sound healthy)

Coruser
So the fan speed and power status on this GS700 2013 edition is psu-load dependent? "If the fan is not spinning, please Request an RMA. The AX series is the only PSU series from Corsair which has a fan that will not spin 100% of the time." http://forum.corsair.com/v2/showthread.php?p=488083
peanutz94
So the fan speed and power status on this GS700 2013 edition is psu-load dependent? That is exactly correct. The fan wont or should not kick in until it reaches about 49c or 45% load or any combination of the two depending on system config. The fan will do a self test and run at 100% at first start up and then should quit until needed. The thread you posted was for an older model and not applicable for your PSU
