Default CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 @1600 wont post unless 1.65V

Hi!

I just put together a new computer with an ASUS Crosshair V Formula, Phenom2 955 and the 16GB CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 kit.

For some reason, my board won't post with the RAM at 1600mhz unless the voltage is set to 1.65. Are they defective, or is this ok?

I've updated it to the latest bios.

Thanks for your help!

True, thanks for the quick reply. I just want to make sure I'm not going to burn them out or something

No you wont burn them out. They run at 1.65v on intel x58 systems too. You shouldn't have to worry about that. I'm also pretty sure they can go as high as 1.7 on AMD systems. But take Synthohols advice and wait for Yellow Beard or RamGuy to give the official answer before you go past 1.65v

Sounds good, I wasn't planning on going higher than 1.65. Thank you both for your input

Actually you can run any of our DDR3 modules up to 2.0 Volts with out voiding the warranty but I would not suggest that much voltage.
